This is about rolling out team rituals relevant to each of Groov’s 6 Pillars of Wellbeing across a 6-week period.
Each week, teams can DOT (Do One Thing) to support their wellbeing that’s relevant to that week’s focus Pillar. At the end of the 6 weeks, encourage each team to choose a ritual to commit to and enter it into the Ritual Builder website.
What are team rituals?
Team rituals belong to teams or groups of co-workers who work closely together. Science tells us that peer accountability can be very helpful for making new habits stick, so creating team rituals is a great way for team members to support each other in living wellbeing day-to-day. Team rituals can also help create an enjoyable shared experience that strengthens the team's culture.
OBJECTIVES
Why should we encourage trialing team rituals?
They are fun and easy ways to embed wellbeing into the workday
They show us how simple the concept of rituals can be
They encourage us to consider each Pillar and how it relates to our teams
They enable us to trial and tweak what works for us and those around us – to adapt as required
HOW TO GET STARTED
Communicate the intention and request to all relevant leaders
Request each leader either nominates someone in their team or takes on the below responsibilities themselves:
Engaging the team each week
Confirming the ritual to trial that week
Sharing the ritual on relevant channels
Encouraging adherence to that ritual for the week
Reviewing, adapting and then deciding the ritual(s) they are commiting to by entering it on the Ritual Builder website.
Set up an internal communications channel, such as Microsoft Teams or Slack, to share ideas, ask questions, and chat about all things wellbeing at [workplace].
Post in the channel with a description of what’s coming up, such as: “We’re going to trial some team rituals relevant to each of the 6 Pillars over the coming few weeks. Remember, SHOW is all about bringing wellbeing into the workplace. Over the next few weeks, each [Monday], we’ll post here about one of the 6 Pillars. Your leader (or nominated team member) will then share the ritual you are trialling for that week, relevant to that Pillar. Looking forward to having more conversations about our wellbeing in the coming weeks! Please get in touch if you have any questions or feedback.”
Each week, include a snippet from the 6 Pillars poster, a link to the relevant Module, and write an encouraging call-to-action such as: “This week we’re focusing on the [Celebrate] Pillar. [This is all about noticing good things and treating yourself with kindness. It’s about taking the time to appreciate and celebrate the amazingness that is YOU. What is ONE thing your team is doing this week to ‘Celebrate’?]”
Have all teams with a published ritual on the Ritual Builder website.
