Key messaging

Mental wellbeing can be a tricky thing to talk about, so our clinical and content experts have crafted this suggested wording for how to talk about the Groov.

How to use this

  • Share and discuss this with leaders and other influential team members. Make sure that they understand and are comfortable with it.

  • Use this in company, team or one-on-one written and verbal communications whenever needed.

  • Repetition is key! Most of us need to hear or read something many, many times before it truly sinks in.

  • Select the paragraphs in the middle section that is most relevant to what's happening in the organisation.

At our company we want to make sure that we’re all taking care of our mental wellbeing, every day.

Nurturing wellbeing is one of our core values. We want to provide the right support to help our people thrive.

We acknowledge there has been some uncertainty lately, and this is something we know takes its toll on our wellbeing.

We are one team - one big team - and all have such an important role to play within our workplace. Now, more than ever, we need to have each other’s backs. It’s important to check-in on one another and create a workplace which supports this.

The recent tragedy has affected, and will continue to affect, us all in different ways. And that’s OK.

The demands on many of us have been high, and we’re aware that this isn’t sustainable. The sooner we get on top of this, the better.

As you know, there have been lots of changes lately - and we know that can affect us all in different ways.

We try our best to overcome all challenges - but as you know, COVID has been a big one which certainly has affected us.

We’re living through challenging, uncertain times, and it’s affected all of us. It's okay if you haven't felt okay.

It's okay if you haven't felt okay.

That’s why we have teamed up with Groov, a wellbeing organisation founded by former All Black and mental health advocate Sir John Kirwan. They’re here to help us embed a culture of mental wellbeing in our workplace.

What does that mean? It means supporting individuals, teams and the organisation as a whole to function well and thrive, with positive mental wellbeing as the normal way of working for everyone.

On an individual level, we’re providing each and every one of you with clinically-backed techniques to help you build resilience, bounce back from stress, and feel happier.

At an organisation level, we’ll help to ensure that our company is a place where people flourish because they’re supported to feel their best.

We all have mental wellbeing and we all need to look after it. We want you to take the time to do that - and Groov is here to help.

The next step is for us to better understand where we're at when it comes to wellbeing. You'll hear more on this from Groov soon, and we ask that you take part in this process.

We will be launching Groov [insert date] but the first communication from Groov to you, will be two short simple assessments.  The 6 pillars assessment to understand you as an individual and the Workplace Temperature Check to see where we, as a business are at.  This information allows Groov to tailor the ongoing programme, so it meets our needs here at [insert organisation's name]

Your voice is important to us and your input is instrumental to making this a success.
